Gordon Snee's first major retrospective.

Crossley Gallery, Dean Clough Mills, Halifax, HX3 5AX

September 30th 2017 - January 14th 2018

We were delighted to show Snee's work at a major gallery for the first time. Inviting students from The Brooksbank School in Elland and Barnsley YMCA Conversation Club, we were successful in using the work as inspiration for learning about and exploring art.

We were also proud to host classical pianist Kaoru Bingham who provided a short concert on the 13th January.

Natural Abstraction - Winter Gardens, Sheffield - July 2016

We showed Gordon Snee's work to a wider public for the first time at the Pop-Up shop in Sheffield's Winter Gardens, next to the Millennium Galleries.

We published a booklet about Snee's work, and sold prints, cards and some original works. We had many animated conversations inspired by the work and gained many new friends and supporters.

The Life of Painting - Eagle Works, Green Lane - September 2014

This exhibition was held in a large, iconic old industrial building in Little Kelham, a low carbon property development in Kelham Island.
We showed over forty previously unseen pieces from the 1950s right up until the year 2000.

The exhibition ran for three days and included live music from a variety of local Sheffield artists, and a Sunday lunch provided by local gastro pub The Milestone. The event was supported by Kelham Island Arts Collective, Kelham Island Community Alliance and Ernest Wright & Sons, scissor manufacturers.

The Language of Abstraction - The Gage Gallery, KIAC, Sheffield - October 2013

Our first exhibition was co-curated and organised by Simon Wigglesworth Baker, John Wilkinson and other friends at Kelham Island Artist Collective.

This was the first exhibition of Snee's work since the 1960s, and the first time most of the work had ever been seen. We were delighted to share the joys of our discovery, and we were overwhelmed by the positive response.
